At Trust Care, we know the importance of helping our residents stay active as part of their overall health and well-being. Recently, we welcomed Grassroots Sports Academy Yorkshire to Holly Tree Lodge, where they led activities designed to promote movement and engagement for all abilities.
Grassroots Sports Academy Yorkshire works across the region, bringing physical activity and sports to people of all ages and needs. Their care home programmes focus on improving physical health and encouraging social interaction through tailored activities.
During their visit, the team organised sessions that included chair exercises and simple games, ensuring everyone could take part. The activities were well received, with residents enjoying the chance to try something new.
Activities coordinator for Holly Tree Lodge, Emma Hannan, said: “The Grassroots Sports Academy team were great, they brought such enthusiasm and positivity. They created an inclusive space where our residents felt confident to take part. It was wonderful to see so many smiles.
“We’re pleased to work with organisations like Grassroots Sports Academy. It’s important to us to connect with our local communities and ensure our residents are supported too.”
Grassroots Sports Academy’s visit supports our own beliefs in the importance of movement, showing that even small steps can make a difference.
